Like everything else this year, 2020 holiday celebrations and events are a little different. But that just means you need do a bit of extra planning - and I'm here to help! There are so many options that allow for safe, social distancing, and lots of holiday cheer.

Cheekwood

Cheekwood Estate & Gardens is lit up with more than 1 million Christmas lights for Holiday Lights at Cheekwood Nov. 20, 2020 to Jan. 10, 2021. Tour the gardens and meet Santa's reindeer as well as the Dancing Lights of Trains, the giant poinsettia tree in the Great Hall of the Frist Learning Center and much more. Opryland

A Country Christmas at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center takes place Nov. 13, 2020-Jan. 3, 2021 and includes 3 million lights strung throughout the property inside and out. Other holiday activities include tubing, ice bumper cars and ice skating, Breakfast with Charlie Brown & Friends, Reindeer Encounters, scavenger hunts, photos with Santa and more.

Franktown

Franktown Festival of Lights is a nightly light display running from November 26, 2020, to December 26, 2020, at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center in Franklin. Relax in your vehicle and wind through over 50 light displays and listen to synchronized Christmas tunes through your radio. Cannonsburgh Village

Cannonsburgh Village has been transformed into a sparkling Christmas Village, and the community is invited to visit. The free holiday drive-thru lights display beckons visitors from 5:30-8:30 p.m. each Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 20.  

North Pole Express

Come ride on a restored classic streamlined stainless steel passenger train with Santa and his Elves at the Tennessee Central Railway Museum.  Bring your cameras for some great photo opportunities! Running on Dec. 12 and 19 - this is a 64 mile, 2 hour round trip!

Marshmallow Hikes

Come by Owl's Hill in Brentwood for a nice hike in the winter woods followed by hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows! The Owl's Hill annual Marshmallow and Hot Chocolate Hikes will take place from Dec. 28 - Jan. 16.

Virtual Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes

For the past 36 years, Oaklands has presented the Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes as its largest fundraising event of the year. You are invited to usher in the holiday season with an enchanting virtual tour of historic Murfreesboro homes. The tour, sponsored by First Bank, will feature a selection of private homes and, as always, the historic Oaklands Mansion.
